This week’s full moon is going to be special. Known as the “Buck Moon” — it is a supermoon that is the biggest and brightest of the year. It will be visible in the night sky from Tuesday morning to Friday morning, reaching its peak on Wednesday.
In Hatha Yoga, the word “Ha” refers to the sun, while the word “Tha” means the moon. For yogis, lunar energy has traditionally been associated with the divine feminine. It is considered cooling, calming, relaxing, and introspective.
On Saturday, we will mark this special supermoon with a Full Moon Circle lead by Rita Thomas. Register for the event here. Experience a gentle yin practice, meditation, and soothing sound bowls. This 2 hour event will be a sacred space for yogis to heal and grow.
