COVID-19

Policies and procedures to protect our studio.

Ahimsa, the principle of compassion, is the first Yama of yoga.  It is the practice’s foundation, and it commands yogis to refrain from doing harm to ourselves and to others.

So when we take steps to halt the spread of COVID-19, and prevent unnecessary suffering, we are actually putting Ahimsa into practice.  Mindful that the deadly disease can spread easily in indoor settings, we have instituted the following policies and procedures to ensure the safety of everyone in the studio.

VACCINATION

The New York City health department requires all participants in indoor yoga classes to be fully or partially vaccinated against COVID-19. Please provide one of the following items prior to class: (1) an official CDC vaccination card or a photo; (2) another official vaccination document or record; (3) the NYS Excelsior Pass; (4) the NYC COVID Safe App; or (4) the CLEAR Health Pass App.

MASKS

If you are partially vaccinated, you must wear a mask inside the studio at all times. No buffs, bandanas or gaiters allowed. You become fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving the first shot of 1-dose vaccine, or the second shot of a 2-dose vaccine.  Fully vaccinated people are also encouraged to wear a mask.

AIR PURIFICATION & VENTILATION

Running 24/7, air purifiers completely circulate and clean the air in each practice room roughly every 15 minutes. They also use medical-grade True HEPA filters, which capture 99.9% of airborne microbes and contaminants down to .1 microns. When the weather is nice, our windows are kept open to let fresh air into the studio.

SHARED PROPS

We encourage you to bring your own props to class whenever possible. However, we also have rental towels and mats, as well as communal props, should you need them. Please clean all used items after class with our disinfectant spray.

HAND HYGIENE

For your convenience, we have placed hand sanitizer stations throughout the studio. Remember to wash visibly soiled hands with soap and water.

HEALTH SCREENINGS

While you no longer need to submit a health screening prior to your class, you should continue to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. Do not come to the studio if you feel sick.
